IGDA Kymenlaakso: Game Development Across Nations

Want to know what game development looks like around the world?


Then you are in luck!


On the 10th of April, starting at 15:00 we are having guests from around the world speaking about their experiences and what the game development community looks like in their countries!

We gather at Kohoa Synergiakeskus in Kouvola and there we will listen to our guests whom will be on screen. We have some snacks and refreshments as well as some activities during our breaks from the talks.

WHEN: 10th of April at 15:00 to 20:00
WHERE: Kohoa Synergiakeskus Kouvola
The location is a 10 minute slow walk from the train station.

IGDA Kymenlaakso Kotka January Meetup

We are back from the break!
Hope you had a wonderful winter holiday break.

We are starting this year with a meetup in Kotka on the 29th of January (observe that it is on a Wednesday!) at 18:00.
We’ll meetup at Ravintola Kairo to hang out and to catch up. However, this is also after the Finnish Game Jam! This means that for the people who participated and want to show off the games they made, this will be the opportunity to do so!

We will have people from the Finnish Game Jam board talking at the event and after the event our friends at Kuura will host an after event hangout.

If you want to showcase your game jam game – bring your own device.

IGDA Kymenlaakso Xmas Party

Hey all!!

 

Join us for an extra fun IGDA Kymenlaakso Xmas Party! 

This year, the Xmas Party will also be the afterparty for Xamk Game Track and the Finnish Game Jam Awards. To attend, you need to get a free Xamk Game Track ticket!

The Party will be held on November 21st starting at 17:00. The location is Satama Areena, Kotka (Tornatorintie 102), next to the new Xamk Kotka campus. The train stop is a 5 min walk away form the locale. There's going to be a free bus ride to the event from Helsinki via Porvoo thanks to our sponsor, Game Makers of Finland. IGDA Kymenlaakso June Meetup - Picnic Edition Kouvola

We welcome you to join us at this summer's first IGDA Kymenlaakso outdoor meetup, on June 6th at the cozy Urheilupuisto in Kouvola!

We are gathering on the 6th of June by the picnic blankets at 18.00 (we are easy to spot)!
We provide some snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, but feel free to also bring your own consumables! It's also beneficial to take your own blankets / sitting arrangements with you (there are a few benches though).
There will also be Frisbee golf and Mölkky and other games for you to play - but most of all: GOOD COMPANY!
